African Bridge Network, in coordination with the Mayor’s Office of Workforce Development (OWD)SkillWorksThe Clowes FundCommonwealth Corporation, and Eastern Bank is proud to share the outcomes of the 2025/26 Cohort of the Immigrant Professionals Fellowship. The Fellowship is a partnership with employers to address racial and economic disparities in the workforce by creating a diverse talent pipeline whilst providing the opportunity for the fellows to get US working experience.

The 2025 Cohort placed 10 talented, diverse, and multilingual professionals with local healthcare and research institutions, allowing them to gain the needed US work experience to access jobs in the industry and advance in their careers.

2025 Profiles

Despite holding advanced degrees, many immigrants are sidelined because their credentials are unrecognized and their professional networks are limited. ABN’s Fellowship recruits, upskills, and places participants into four-month paid professional roles in healthcare and research, partnering directly with employers to meet real workforce needs.

This year’s fellows include medical doctors, medical researchers, and molecular biologists, now working in departments at Massachusetts General Hospital and Boston Medical Center. At a time when immigrants are often portrayed as a burden, these placements tell a different story: skilled professionals filling critical gaps in healthcare and strengthening the Massachusetts economy.

Follow along as we release weekly stories on each fellow.
