Dr. Ify Osunkwo, MD, MPH is the chief patient officer at Novo Nordisk Rare Disease. Prior to this, she served as the inaugural chief patient officer and senior vice president at Forma Therapeutics. She has extensive experience in clinical management, population health, and health literacy and is an internationally acclaimed expert in sickle cell disease, health equity, and the management of chronic pain. In her role as rare D CPO Dr Osunkwo is responsible for realising Novo Nordisk’s vision to transform the lives of patients by improving access and care through partnerships with global patient and community stakeholders while driving an internal culture of patient-centric treatment solution development. Dr Ify Osunkwo spent 30 years as a lifespan haematologist, principal investigator and clinical trialist both in the US and Africa

A dual national of the US and Nigeria, Dr Ify holds an MD from The University of Nigeria, an MPH from Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore MD (USA) and is board certified in paediatric haematology and oncology.

This session will be moderated by Gloria Boye of Alexion Pharmaceuticals.
