Project Overview

Organization: African Bridge Network (ABN)

Location: Virtual, Massachusetts

Duration: 3 – 6 months

African Bridge Network (ABN) is searching for an independent consultant to fill the position of Employer Engagement Specialist on a 3- to 6-month contract basis. This specialist will be critical in building our network of employers interested in collaborating with ABN to host qualified and employment-eligible skilled immigrant professionals in Massachusetts through our Immigrant Professional Fellowship Program and Career Advising Services.

Scope of Work

  1. Research and Identify Potential Employer Partners:
    • Conduct research to identify potential employers aligned with ABN’s mission.
    • Focus on industries such as healthcare, finance, and the life sciences.
    • Engage prospective employers interested in hiring or hosting qualified and employment-eligible immigrant professionals.
  1. Program Promotion:
    • Create marketing and outreach plans to interact with various employer categories.
    • Oversee the creation of recruitment materials.
    • Emphasize the advantages of hosting Fellows or recruiting skilled and employment-eligible immigrant professionals, focusing on talent, community participation, and diversity.
    • Use various recruitment strategies, such as information sessions or Chamber of Commerce presentations.
    • Collaborate with the ABN marketing team to promote the Immigrant Professional Fellowship Program across several social media.
  1. Negotiation and Agreement:
    • Assist the ABN team in negotiating contracts with prospective employer partners.
    • Ensure that collaborations are mutually beneficial to both ABN and employer partners.
  1. Record Keeping and Reporting:
    • Establish and keep detailed records of all contacts, contracts, and discussions with employment partners.
    • Provide ABN Executive Director with scheduled progress reports.
    • Collect input from employer partners that may be utilized to improve employer recruiting efforts.

Deliverables

  1. Recruit six employers from at least two targeted industries – healthcare, finance, and the life sciences.
  2. A marketing campaign with specific procedures for engaging Massachusetts employers about qualified and employment-eligible skilled immigrants.
  3. Marketing materials for employer recruiting, including a pitch deck.
  4. A guide to employer partner negotiation
  5. Recommendation for improving ABN’s ability to engage more employer partners.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience building and maintaining relationships with employers, industry associations, and community organizations.
  • Experience with Program and business development.
  • Strong communication, networking, and negotiation skills.
  • Passion for promoting diversity, inclusion, and immigrant empowerment.
  • Knowledge of the Massachusetts job market and familiarity with healthcare, finance, and life sciences industries.
