Clean Energy Fellowship

ABN and Transform Power Systems (TPS) are partnering for the Spring 2026 Cohort of the Clean Energy Fellowship. The Fellowship is a career-launching experience for professionals who want to drive change in the clean energy transition— particularly in communities most impacted by climate change.

Whether you’re pivoting careers from a different industry or deepening your commitment to climate justice, this Fellowship will give you the hands-on training, real-world exposure, and professional support to grow into a leader in energy.

Fellowship Tracks

Learn to manage timelines, budgets, and stakeholder relationships for clean energy projects.

Train for technical field roles involving installation, diagnostics, and system maintenance.

Build skills in software-based layout and planning for solar, storage, and electrification systems.

Prepare to ensure systems meet design specs, safety standards, and performance expectations.

The Fellowship Experience

Build foundational knowledge in clean energy systems and environmental justice while participating in hands-on learning.
Training topics include:

  • Energy Fundamentals
  • Energy Technologies & Safety
  • Environmental Justice in Practice
  • Career Mapping & Navigation

Fellows receive technical training, exposure to real projects, and develop your professional network. Fellows additionally are required to lead a project to deliver climate-critical solutions for a particular employer or community.

After the formal training period, Fellows receive ongoing mentorship, leadership coaching. This support continues even after Fellows receive their full-time job placement to ensure continued success in the industry. Program participants take part in:

  • Employer-guided projects to apply training.
  • Quarterly development roundtables focused on equitable energy access and decarbonization.
  • Continued mentorship to refine leadership abilities and career goals.

Qualifications

The TPS Fellowship Program selects motivated, mission-oriented professionals from a range of of industry backgrounds. The program seeks professionals who demonstrate initiative, adapt quickly in dynamic settings, and thrive in mission-driven environments where purpose and impact matter. Candidates at a minimum should possess the following:

  • Massachusetts resident
  • Bachelor’s Degree or 3+ years of work experience
  • Passion for climate-critical initiatives and environmental justice

Program Supports

The first 12 weeks of every program participant’s journey have milestones assigned to each week. Participants receive an incentive stipend of $125/week for completing the assignments for a given week. ​Fellows receive an additional $1,000 stipend upon successful completion of the 12-week training period.

Participants may be eligible for additional financial support if their participation in the program decreases their earned income (e.g., reducing hours at a job) or increases their out-of-pocket expenses (e.g., childcare or elder care). ​Verification is requested for these supports of up to $300/week.

Participants may propose their own projects and/or sign on to funded TPS projects as part of their Fellowship experience. TPS projects have varying funding levels based on project responsibilities.​

Participants who do not have access to transportation may be eligible for support (up to $90/month).​

Each participant is assigned a Success Coach whom they will meet with weekly during the first 12 weeks of their program and then quarterly thereafter. The Success Coach is meant to support your transition into the clean energy workforce.
