IPHSIN is a leadership network under the African Bridge Network that empowers and supports foreign-born professionals to advance their careers in the human services industry. The core members of the network are foreign-born professionals already in leadership positions within the human service industry who serve as models and advocates.
How we Define Foreign-Born Professional Leaders:
Any foreign-born professional in a leadership position in the human services industry in any of these roles: Non-Direct Care Staff with supervisory roles; Program and House Managers; Case Managers; Clinicians; Administrators or other senior management positions and Consultants and Board Members.

Since its initiation in 2019, IPHSIN has been influential in advocating for leadership advancement for foreign-born professionals in the human services industry.
Untapped Talent Study
Network members advised the Simmons University study on the challenges and opportunities for career and leadership development of foreign-born and minority professionals in the Human Services industry. This study was commissioned by ABN and four human services agencies in Massachusetts.
The Foreign-Born Leader Scholarship
Through the advocacy of IPHSIN, a Foreign-Born Leader Scholarship of $3,000 has been instituted by the Providers’ Council for a foreign-born professional enrolled in a master’s or doctoral degree program. It pointed out the potential impact of IPHSIN in advocating for minority professionals in the Human Services industry.

IPHSIN partners with different organizations to host webinars on career advancement resources and opportunities for foreign-born professionals in the human services industry.
